Meimei frowned. "I'm still coming with you, right?" she asked, her brows furrowed. "I don't really care if you could have killed me. Someonw else would try to hurt me. You said that yourself. I've got to be prepared." Meimei swung her legs over the side, wincing again at the pain. "I don't believe you intentionally hurt me, and even if so, I don't believe you wished it. I remembered you looked worried back at the field when I fell. If you did wish for me to be hamred, I don't think you could've cared that much."

Hiro turned around and walked back over to her. "If you still want to come, at least let me help you." Before she answered, Hiro pulled her close and helped her over to the window. "If you're sure you want to do this, then let's go." Hiro took a step off the window sill and the pair dropped to the ground. "No worries, I got this." Bending his knees to absorb the impact, Hiro shot straight up form the ground and landed on the roof of the next building. "We'll have to put the Snow Country trip on hold. I need to go back home and get some stuff. You're alright with that?" Hiro looked into Meimei's eyes and smiled. "You're a very stubborn girl you know? Once you set you mind on something you just don't let it go do you?" Hiro turned once more and moved towards the village gates.

Meimei let Hiro help her to the window. As Hiro stepped off he sill of the window, Meimei waved back at the doctor staring wide-eyed at the pair. Hiro landed neatly, shooting up the next second to the roof of the next building. "We'll have to put the Snow Country trip on hold. I need to go back home and get some stuff. You're alright with that?" Meimei shrugged. "Can't exactly argue, can I?" she asked, smiling back at him. "You're a very stubborn girl you know? Once you set your mind on something you just don't let it go do you?" Meimei just smiled as an answer.

For the first time in his life, Hiro was enjoying the company of another person. As he ran, he glanced down at Meimei and just looked at her for a second. I don't know why, but I feel as if I can actually trust her. Weird. The sky was still dark as Hiro once more left the village carrying Meimei in his arms. Looking up at the sky, the rain gently hit Hiro in the face and made him at ease. The storm seemed to be moving in the same direction that they were going and would make travel a little harder on them. Lightning was still streaking through the clouds above, turning night into day. The claps of thunder were so loud it was almost deafening. The ground had started to level out and eventually turned into an open plain. The long grass was swaying in the wind, occasionally illuminated by a bolt of lightning.
When Hiro reached the edge of the plain, he stopped and looked around for a moment. The winds had really picked up and were now strong enough to support Hiro even if he leaned. Giving a cough, Hiro started out across the field and tried to keep as much of the rain off Meimei as he could. The wind had increased again so Hiro would have to yell if he wanted Meimei to hear him. "If your getting too wet, we can stop and find some cover!" He looked at her and waited for his answer.

Meimei was entranced by the lightning as it danced across the clouds and sky. She didn't notice Hiro looking at her, just watching the wild dance of the rain and lightning and thunder. "If you're getting too wet, we can stop and find some cover!" Now Meimei noticed, that she was soaked, despite Hiro's efforts. Not to mention the wind was picking up speed and biting at her bare skin, making the weather sunddenly unbearable. "Yes, let's!" Meimei shouted over the screaming wind.

Hiro smiled. He thought she might want to stop. The storm had been steadily increasing in intensity since they left the village. Hiro could barely see the edge of the field through the rain but he knew he was almost out. The plain turned into a forest at the far end and that was where Hiro and Meimei were. Stopping on the edge of the forest, Hiro looked around. "This should do nicely. There must be someplace we can rest until this storm blows over. I'll need to set you down for a second." Gently, he set Meimei on the ground then made his hand signs. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" In several poofs of smoke, three exact copies of Hiro appeared. "Alright, you two go find some shelter and you get food. Go." The three clones disappeared and went off in different directions. Turning around and looking at Meimei, Hiro sighed. "For the moment, I'll need to find you somewhere dry so you can rest. You really should have stayed in that hospital instead of coming with me. Too late now I guess..." Picking her back up, he made his way into the woods and tried to find somewhere dry.
Out of the corner of his eye, Hiro saw what looked like a large pile of rocks stacked on top of one another. Hiro guessed it was about ten feet high and had and opening big enough to fit both of them. Walking in, Hiro set Meimei on a smaller rock and sat down himself. "Well, looks like it could be a while before we can leave, so now is as good a time as any to get to know each other." Pausing to breath, he continued. "So, is there a guy you like?''

Meimei gazed up at the canopy. She felt so tired. "You really should have stayed in that hospitable instead of coming with me. Too late now I guess..." Meimei yawned. "I'm stubborn, what do you expect?' she replied wearly. Hiro carried her to the mouth of a rack fomation, just allowing for shelter. He set her down a flat rock, then sat down himself "Well, looks like it could be a while before we can leave, so now is as good a time as any to get to know each other." Meimei sat up straight, wringing the rain out of her hair. "So is there a guy you like?" Hiro asked. This took Meimei by suprise, losing balance for a moment. "N-no, why'd you ask?" Meimei replied, her cheeks turning pink, then red. "Well, there was this one guy when I was a genin. He was on my team, but he turned out to be really cruel. Gave him a nice good slugging when he tried to toss a sack of kittens into a river." Meimei blushed again, pretending to examine her nails, trying to avoid Hiro's eyes.

"It's always better to look someone in the eye when you talk, it gives you a confident image. You know that you get embarrassed really easy." Hiro got up and walked over to her and knelt down in front of her. He made it impossible to avoid his gaze. "You should find someone that you enjoy being with and hold onto them tooth and nail. Especially in this profession. You never know how long you'll live." Several of his joints cracked as he stood up. "It's not like you really care or anything but, it's just something I though you should know." Now it was Hiro's turn to avoid Meimei's eyes. Coughing, he tried to change the subject. "So how old are you?"

Meimei blinked, her breath catching at the closeness of Hiro. Again she blushed. Meimei could only nod at what Hiro was saying, at lost for any words. "It's not lke you really care or anything but, it's just something I thought you should know." Then Hiro avoided Meimei's gaze. She could only wonder why. "So how old are you?" Hiro asked. Meimei could answer this easily. "15," she replied with a smile.

"Ah. I have been meaning to ask this for a while now, so I'll go ahead and do it. I was wondering where exactly that jutsu hit you, you know, the one with twin black dragons." He walked over and leaned down next Meimie, his blue eyes meeting her own. "I just to make sure you're okay. I don't want anything to happen to you cause it would get boring. I..." Hiro was interrupted by two of the shadow clones that had sent out. "As you can see, we found shelter." With a poof, both of them vanished into thin air. Now Hiro was waiting on the third one that as supposed to get food. Facing Meimei again, he continued. "So where did it hit you?"

"Oh, um... in the stomach." Meimei lay a hand gingerly against the large and very colourful bruise. "Why do you ask? As far as the doctors said, I just had to be careful, and that I was lucky. Why was that?" Meimei was very confused now. Her eyes caught Hiro's bright blue eyes and held her. Had they always been that bright? she asked herself. She was cut off by the arrival of two of the three shadow. Hiro told them shelter was found, then retunred to Meimei "So where did it hit you?" Meimei patted her abdomen lightly. "Here." she replied almost monotonusly.

Hiro eyed where she had indicated. Had I finished that jutsu, she would be dead. Lucky girl. Hiro stood back up. "Ya, you should definitely take it easy. I'm still surprised that you managed to stay consious after a near direct hit, not to mention the fact you were pinned against a tree. You're pretty amazing you know." He turned and walked back to the entrance of the cave and leaned up against the wall. "If I was in charge, I'd want to be on a team with you. You've got skill and loads more potential." He smiled as he looked back over his shoulder. "Here's hoping you get well soon."

Meimei laughed softly. "I'm still surprised that you managed to stay consious after a near direct hit, not to mention the fact you were pinned against a tree. You're pretty amazing you know." she shook her head. "Not really, just lucky, I guess." Meimei murmured. "If I was in charge, I'd want to be on a team with you. You've got skills and loads more potential." Meimei blinked at Hiro, feeling the colour rise in her cheeks again. She turned away, muttering, "Thanks..." She tried to lower herself off the small rock onto the cave floor to get some sleep, but the palm of her hand slipped, and she banged her elbow against the rock. Meimei yelped in suprise, small tears of pain welling up at the corners of her eyes. "ow, ow, ow..." Meimei hissed, biting on the inside of her cheek to keep control of her emotions.
((wow, she's just a big bundle of pain!!))

IC: Yes, yes she is
OOC: Hiro flipped around at the sound of her yelp. "Are you okay? Or do I need to kiss it better?" Even though her pain wasn't funny, Hiro couldn't help but make a joke about it. Walking back to her, he grabbed her by the free hand and pulled her off the rock and set her down gently on the ground. "Like I said, you need to take it easy. Don't worry about asking for help, that's why I am here." He gave her a reassuring smile. Before leaving, Hiro couldn't resist rubbing it in again. "Are you sure you don't want me to kiss it better, cause I will."

Meimei didn't argue when Hiro helped her to the ground safely. She nodded in thanks, but blushed again when he rubbed in the point of kissing it. "Eck." Meimei retorted, lying down to rest. "So when should the food be coming?" she asked with a yawn, closing her eyes.
